Re-Take That: Bringing Take That Home to Sunderland

Hey, Re-Take That fans!

It's Pete here, I play Howard and I'm one of the founding members of the UK's number one Take That tribute act. I'm writing to you from our hometown of Sunderland, where we're gearing up for another amazing show at The Firestation. It's always special to perform in our home city, so we thought we'd take a moment to reflect on our journey as Re-Take That and our connection to Sunderland.

As you may know, Re-Take That was founded in 2007 with the aim of bringing the energy and excitement of a Take That concert to audiences across the UK and beyond. Our first-ever performance was in Sunderland at the Roker Hotel, and from that moment on, we knew we were onto something special.

Since then, we've played over 100 shows a year, to audiences of up to 30,000 at the Sunderland Airshow, theatre tours, UK tours, and large-scale shows combined, playing to nearly 750,000 people in total. But no matter where we go, Sunderland will always be our home.

Last year, we had the honour of playing at the historic Sunderland Empire for a massive show, complete with dancers and pyrotechnics. (See the videos below) It was truly a night to remember, and we couldn't be prouder to have brought the magic of Take That to our hometown.

Check out what our wonderful hometown audience had to say on the night.

And this year, we're thrilled to be back in Sunderland for another home show, this time at The Firestation. It's a smaller venue, but that just means we get to be even closer to our fans and really feel the energy in the room. We're planning to bring all the hits, the dance moves, and of course, those iconic Take That costumes.

The Firestation, where we'll be performing on Sat 18th March, has undergone an impressive restoration. Completed in 2017 by the Sunderland MAC Trust, it introduced Live Theatre and Dance City to Sunderland in brand-new studios, offering workshops for all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

The creation of our stunning new Auditorium began in 2019, extending the existing Fire Station to provide a versatile, mid-scale performance space with a year-round programme of music, theatre, comedy and dance for all tastes.

We can't wait to see you all there, and to feel the warmth and support of our hometown. It's been an incredible journey so far, and we're so grateful to all our fans for joining us on this ride.
